Meanwhile, Adderall is a commonly abused drug among young individuals. It is a stimulant and often used under the pressure of achieving better study results by increasing the concentration levels for a short duration.
There has been a strong debate in the United States and some other countries about the legalization of marijuana which has taken the attention of many college students who are eager to experiment with the drug. Ecstasy, the famous party drug of the 90s, is also making a comeback and getting increasingly popular among college students.
A Report on College Students
A report on college students stated that 80% of students surveyed abused alcohol. 51% of these students were marijuana users as well, which was a concerning statistic. Around 33% substance abusing students also used Adderall, and Ecstasy was used by 9% of the surveyed college students.
A survey in 2013 further showed that 36% of college students answered in the positive that they had used marijuana in the previous year, while a survey with the same parameters in 2006 found that 30% of college students were engaged in the similar activity.
40% college students also say they have been drunk once in the past month which is greater when compared with non college students with 34% respondents having the same answer. 10.7% college students answered in a survey that they used Adderall without prescription while only 6.8% non students used this drug without supervision.
Students who are part of such social groups are 26% more likely to indulge in binge drinking when compared to others who are not part of a sorority or a fraternity.
Heavy Alcohol Use

10.5% students got into accidents due to alcohol use while 12% students were attacked or hit by other drugged students. 2% of college students in the study were subject to alcohol related sexual abuse.
